We went camping last weekend had an adventure of a life time. We saw wild animals, fell in a creek and survived to tell the tale!

I come from a family of 11 children, between us we have 42 children and so far between the grandkids, there is over 50 great grand kids. So we try and do this every 5 years at my sister's property which she has over 100 acres so there is plenty of camping area for everyone.  We also have such a great time...all the kids get to see their cousins again and its such a great time had by all.

My friend and her 3 kids always wanted to go camping but did not have a tent. My sister was in the same situation. So I purchased a $60 tent from aldi and went to narrabeen big 4. They each stayed one night and loved it so much they went and purchased there own tents. It cost me $69 to have two more families to go camping with. Well worth the expense.

We go camping regularly with our Guides. For GACO this year we will be going on a unit camp with a SMURF theme, involving all things blue. We will be doing canoeing and abseiling as well as outdoor cooking and lots of fun games.

I think this a wonderful idea as it gets all the family together and have a great time.

We are a group of pensioner Amateur Radio operators who do a lot of camping trips to enjoy our hobby in the wild and the cameraderie of just getting together and having a yarn and a can of beer at the end of the day and telling bigger lies than last outing.

Both my husband and i grew up camping and try to take the kids as often as possible. we either camp out in the swags under the stars, in the camper trailer or stay in friends huts. each one has its different challenges, but our all time favourite is being on the banks of the murray.

My boys and I love to camp in our tent. The smell of a camp fire and the bush and/or beach. It's great family time. No housework! Plenty of time to chat, explore, read and relax and be together as a family!

Tent up, food stored, everybody in the lake. Bliss. After a long day of setting up and swimming, I left the fire area early and headed to my tent when I heard something in the bushes behind my tent. Ran back to get the men of the site. Torches shining, out of nowhere came the biggest goanna I"ve ever seen in my life and he/she was wearing my swimming bottoms on its head (well around its neck)!!!! Startled by the torches it took off - toward me! I dived into another friends tent and did it up...

It's always been fun camping with my husband and children all in the one tent. I think we are the last of the dinosaurs that still tent it! Then Santa spoiled everything. He brought my sons swags! My husband already had a swag. Now Mum is all alone in the tent and the males of the family are in their swags checking out the stars and male bonding. Son number four felt sorry for Mum and moved his swag into the tent for the last night of camp. Still it was hard to cuddle up to a swag.

We had a wonderful time camping although the weather tried to dampen our fun we still managed to enjoy our weekend. We saw a bandicoot, a wallaby, possums and many different birds. The kids toasted marshmallows over the campfire and swam in a very cold river! The storms made us aware of what camping is like in varying types of weather, including torrential rain, cyclonic winds and hail but we still managed to cook a wonderful roast in the camp ovens in this terrible storm. Our story is from 2005, when our retirement village opened and the first of the residents moved in. We decided we'd have a weekend away at the Innes National Park and stay at the Marion Bay Caravan Park about 2 hours away from our home town. Those of us villagers who had no caravans or partners, stayed in cabins, and the rest of us stayed in our campers, caravans and/or motorhomes.
